About Me

U sure?

for a while now... a project of mine has been to create a chair that will hold my logitech g25 racing wheel. it's just not comfortable when I drive on my desk. I feel too high compared to my pedals, gear shift is in an awkward position. I'm a human of habbit. someone drove my car and moved my seat... I was thrown off for a week!! so I want to try to get it to my car's dimensions... if I could... I would get the cabin of my car from the junk yard... gut it and use that... but it's hard to find... not to mention heavy and just as expensive as buying a pre-built one I quested for a new car seat, the kind U see in the modded cars. they were all about $100-$200. add in materials to construct a frame. your still looking close to buying one. since I'm a HUGE DIYer I decided to make my own.

I went to a junkyard and got a leather seat from a 95 maxima. I'm not a huge fan of leather... but it was the only seat that didn't have a smell that made me want to vomit. for almost a year.. it's been sitting in my living room... how that seat is... it's not flat.. so it's always been uneven... since my father is in taiwan... and the head mechanic asked me to be there... even though it's slow... it helps to alleviate the busy moments... I decided to bring it to work on... I planned on getting some square metal tubing from home depot... but they didn't have any... I improvised w/ what we had... and took a support from the trunk of a toyota camry (square metal tubing altho a bit bent in some areas) I cut and grinded it so that it would make the seat level to the ground. and welded it on. the head mechanic is busy... but he showed me quickly how to do it... I had problems getting started... so he did the first line for me... I just ran with it... when I was done... I asked him how it looked and he said... it looked perfect... especially for someone's first time welding... "U sure U didn't weld before" "yup first time" another random skill to add to my belt... along w/ forklift operation... even w/ the hazards of wasps IN the frame of the damn thing!! next up is the acetylene torch!!

Mood: very proud moment.
