About Me

ok well maybe not. but there are things I'm liking about the d7000 that I got vs the rebel xt.

good:
-buttons, dials, options galore! almost everything can be controlled quickly and easily. lovin the dual dials.
-pictures come out stunning! something about the colors of the picture. I do less editing with lightroom!
-fast raw(nef) performance.
-no more 100 picture folder limit! altho from what I read, it was fixed with rebel xti
-live view. I'm able to use the screen like more recent digicams, I still love using the viewfinder for shots though. plus less battery usage, so more picture taking!
bad:
-I keep hearing things can be adjusted, trying to find that in the menu system... it's another story. I need to go back into the novel that is the manual.
-I'm not a fan of the shutter button. supposedly, it's closer to the type that's used on professional models. but I don't feel like there's enough haptic feedback to let me kno the button's down.
-the shutter movement, sounds like a windup toy. goes with the button, I's harder for me to tell that the picture's taken. for rapid shots, it's probably better, less vibration on the camera.
-grip is a little oversized for my hands. I'm adjusting tho.
ugly:
-neckstrap is hideous, first outing and it's already fraying, a quick flame helped melt the edges, but it'll be back! it's thinner than canon, with the added weight, it'll most likely dig into my neck after a whole day's worth of shooting. thinking about RS-Sport

overall, yes it looks like I'm not happy with it, but that statement could not be more wrong! I think with the pictures coming out they way that they do, I'll spend less time playing with the picture and more time just enjoying the shots. that to me, makes it worth the price.

I want to buy a 35mm lens and a flash, then help out a coworker with a photography business he has, as a volunteer first, until I get used to my camera. or maybe try to work for him until I can buy a lens & flash.

Mood: more pictures! more pictures!
